On January 1, 2014, after serving as CEO of R.E. Phelon Company, Inc., David Mosier purchased the Company and reorganized under the name of Fenix Manufacturing Solutions and currently serves as President.
In 2007, David joined then R.E. Phelon Company, Inc. as CFO and in 2009 was promoted to COO of the U.S. Operations in Aiken, South Carolina, Caribbean Operations, a 142,000 sq./ft. world-class custom manufacturing facility and European Operations. During the next several years the Company was reorganized to adopt to the changing economic dynamics of the post 2008 world.
He previously served as CFO of Rostra Precision Controls and General Manager of KS Bearings.
In addition to his work at Fenix he served as President of the Board of Directors for Aiken Technical College Foundation and is a member of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce.
David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from North Carolina State University and his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license while working for Deloitte and Touche, where he specialized in Manufacturing and International Clients.
With almost 19 years of service with R.E. Phelon Company, Inc., Kathy Sapp was named Executive Vice President/CFO to Fenix Manufacturing Solutions. She previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Phelon. In her role as CFO she oversaw both Accounting and Information Technology
Prior to becoming CFO she worked her way up through the ranks. Kathy joined the company as a Corporate Staff Accountant in January 1995 and advanced to the position of Corporate Accounting Manager 3 years later
Before joining Phelon Kathy was an Accounting Manager at Bulldog Computer Products. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Accounting from Augusta State University and has extensive knowledge in international taxation.
After serving, since November 2010 as General Manager of R.E. Phelon Company GmbH, Dominican Republic, Emil Hernandez was named Vice President Dominican Operations with the purchase of Phelon by Fenix Manufacturing Solutions.
He has 25 years of progressive Manufacturing/Quality experience, with the last 16 years working in senior management positions of leading Electronic and Electromechanical Multinational Manufacturers.
Emil previously served as Production Manager, Electrotorca, Plant Manager, Caribe General Electric, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Power One and Quality Assurance Director, Power One.
In addition to his work at Fenix, he is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce AMCHAMDR and of the Free Zone Dominican Association ( ADOZONA).
Emil received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Universidad Pedro Henriquez, Republica Dominicana and hold post grade certifications in Production Management and Total Quality; Lean Manufacturing; and ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditing.
Doug Azbell joined R. E. Phelon Company, Inc. in March 2008 as Vice President – Sales. He was appointed Vice President Engineered Products Division as of start of business for Fenix Manufacturing Solutions January 1, 2014. Doug will be responsible for divisional P&L.
Doug has 25 years of progressive sales and business development experience. A large part of his career has been in the Lawn and Garden industry as Director of Sales and Marketing, Dixie Sales Company and Midwest Regional Sales Manager, Power Lawnmower parts.
In additional to his work at Fenix, he is a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Evans, Georgia.
He holds a Business of Arts in Management from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana.
Chris Wood has 14 years of progressive experience at R. E. Phelon Company, Inc. including cost accounting, information technology, plant management and business development. He was promoted to Vice President Specialty Manufacturing Division for Fenix Manufacturing Solutions.
He previously served as Director of Business Development at Phelon. In that role he managed all commercial aspects of new contract manufacturing business. When joining Phelon’s electronics division two years ago, Wood was tasked with diversifying the business and attracting business outside of the outdoor power equipment industry. In just two years, Phelon’s contract manufacturing division became an important part of the total organization.
Chris joined the company as a Jr. Accountant in August 1999 and has held the positions of Sr. Cost Accountant, Plant Manager of the Aiken Die-cast Division, and Director of Business Development.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of South Carolina - Aiken.
The Aiken Support Team brings more than 50 years of experience to the Fenix organization. That includes more than 20 years of Product Quality and more than 40 years of Design Engineering. The team also boasts extensive experience in stamping, tooling and automation.
The Dominican Republic Team provides more than 70 years of experience to Fenix. All of the Managers hold advanced degrees in their area of expertise with progressive management responsibilities, and many have been with the company for more than 25 years.
Our support team works collaboratively across business segments and borders to deliver greater efficiencies and better ideas for helping our customers succeed and grow their businesses. We provide a unique mix of technical expertise and practical experience for designing and managing programs in a low cost environment.
